Stromboli

Stromboli

This was really good. My family loves anything Italian based so it was a hit. It was fairly easy to make. I made a balsamic/ olive oil dip for it too.

Ingredients:

2 refrigerated loaves of Pillsbury french loaf
1 package of sliced ham
1 package of pepperonis
1 package of sliced Italian cheese
1/2 teaspoon oregano
1/2 teaspoon basil
2 Tablespoons of melted butter

Just combine the bread and roll out as much as possible. Add a layer of ham down the middle, top with a layer of pepperoni. Sprinkle both of the herbs on top of the meat. Top with the cheese. Fold the edges together like a burrito. Make sure there are no holes so that the cheese doesn't run out. Brush the melted butter on it and flip it over. Brush the other side with the remainder of the melted butter. Cook at 375or 20- 22 minutes. Slice into half sandwich size pieces. VOILA!

(I forgot to take a pic of the final product, so I used this pic from the site I got the recipe from. It looked just the same so =)- )

Fiesta

Fiesta!!!

This is an old family favorite. We have always called it fiesta. It is easy and the kids love it. Its my oldest son, Isaiah's favorite. He calles it, "the stuff with the big chunks of cheese". lol

Ingredients:
Crushed up tortilla chips
Velveeta cheese cut in small cubes
Chili: (this is how i make chili)
2 lbs hamburger meat
1 can rotel
1 can pinto beans
1 can ranch style beans
1can tomato sauce
1 package of Williams chili seasoning
2 cups of cooked rice

You layer this on your plate. First, a layer of crushed up chips, then the cheese, then rice, and top it off with chili. I like to make sure I have a chunk of cheese to every bite. And you have to add enough chili so that its not dry. Be careful because you can make a huge plate without intending to! You can add onions, tomatoes, lettuce, or sour cream if you want. =)

Pizza Casserole!!!

Pizza Casserole

This was quite the crowd pleaser! And it was super, duper easy. It's like lasagna and pizza all in one easy dish! Did I mention that it was REALLY easy????

Ingredients
1.   Package of egg noodles
2.   1 1/2 lbs. hambuger meat
3.   2 jars of spagetti sauce (I used prego traditional)
4.   4 (yes i said 4) cups of mozzerella
5.   Pepperonis

Brown hamburger meat and cook noodles according to package directions. Cover bottom of 9x13 baking dish with a little sauce. Add a layer of noodles, then 1/2 the meat, then 1/2 the sauce, then  1/2 the cheese. Repeat. Then add a layer of pepperonis. Cover with foil and pop it in the oven @ 350 for 30 minutes. Uncover and pop it in there again for 15 more. Take it out and let it cool for another 15 minutes so its not too runny. VOILA!!!!

In case I forgot something, here is the link where I got the recipe. I changed a few things!

Tator Tot Casserole

Tater Tot Casserole

This is an incredibly easy kid pleaser. It's perfect for the night that you forgot to set something out. It's also very filling! My mom gave me this recipe and its been a biweekly meal ever since.

Just 5 ingredients!
  • 1  package of frozen tater tots (my mom likes the rounds, I prefer the onion flavored for extra flavor)
  • sliced cheese
  • 1  large can cream of mushroom soup
  • 1/2  C. milk
  • 2 lbs.  hamburger meat

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Brown hamburger meat. Season well. I use salt, pepper, onion salt, and garlic powder. Add milk and soup and heat. Pour mixture into 13x9 inch baking dish. Spread evenly. Add a layer of sliced cheese. (My mom prefers cheddar, I like the thick and creaminess of sliced cheese.) Add a layer of tater tots. Stick it in the oven for 30 minutes. I eat it with ketchup. Yummy

This time I added a little cheddar on top. =) As usual, everyone pigged out. You know you made a good meal when 5 kids at the same table are silent. Music to my ears!

Good food for a chilly, lazy Sunday!

Easy Potato Soup

Directions:

  1. Saute onion in butter or oil until transparent.
  2. Add broth, bring to boil.
  3. Add hash browns, bring to boil.
  4. Add soups (don't dilute) and milk, bring to boil.
  5. Add Cheese and Heat until cheese melts. Optional, serve with bacon bits on top.

I got this recipe from food.com. The link is above. It seemed way too easy to be good, but I was wrong. It was delicious! The most time consuming part of it was waiting for it to come to a boil. 3 TIMES!!! It seems like a whole lot of Velveeta, but it isn't. I liked it with the toppings. Next time I think I will make some garlic bread with it. Casey loved it. The kids liked it, but Kayley complained about the celery and Finn didn't like the bacon bits. They all devoured it and they are a tough crowd!

Where do I begin?

Intro

I have decided to try our this blogging. Some of the things I will post on here will be my own ideas, but honestly a majority of them will be someone else's ideas. I like to take other peoples stuff, (recipes, crafts, decor, etc..) and make them my own. I'm sure that's how most people are, I just want to make sure people don't give me credit for things that aren't mine. That being said, I am still spectacular.

I am a full time student, a mother of 5, and an army wife.

While I am all of these things, they don't really describe me. This is me: I am so very weird. I like to laugh like a nerd, dance in the oddest ways, sing about everything, pretty much I will do anything for a laugh. I only expose this to the people I am closest to. Lucky, lucky people. I speak my mind. This can be considered my best and worst personality trait. I love to be spontanious. I HATE sitting on the couch and wasting time watching mindless television. I'd prefer to sit on the couch surfing the internet. I am ridiculously addicted to facebook, pinterest, and android apps. They are sanctuaries for my procrastination. I love to fish, swim, ski, camp, dance, do yoga and zumba, cook, and cuddle with my man.

Okay, okay enough about me. I am going to try to post atleast weekly something new. Probably mainly recipes. New and old ones. I hope this thing works out. I hope someone enjoys. Maybe one person smiles. Hell, who am I kidding? I WANT TO BE FAMOUS!!!! ;)
